About Glen
Hi, I’m Glen Kieschnick.  I grew up in Thorndale where I attended St. Paul Lutheran School and Thorndale High School.  Growing up in a small town was a lot of fun.  I have many close friends from those days that I always enjoy seeing.  I completed the course of study at Concordia University Texas in only two years.  Actually, it was a Jr. College then.  I remember often loading kids up in my car and coming to visit Redeemer Lutheran Church to worship on Sundays.  Redeemer was on the outskirts of Austin at the time.  The next step in my education came at Concordia University in Nebraska—not to be confused with the red university up there.  I met Redeemer Principal Norm Stuemke when I worked for my brother-in-law, building the classrooms on the east end of the primary wing.  I hoped to one day receive a call to Redeemer Lutheran School.

God works in mysterious ways.  My hope to eventually end up teaching at Redeemer Lutheran School  came with my first call in 1973.  I have loved this place, which I feel is unique in so many ways.  Redeemer is a large congregation that is still small enough to care.  The family atmosphere of this congregation first attracted me to come to Redeemer and still attracts people here.  The school and church work more closely together than almost any church and school.  We are a single ministry united in God’s love.

Redeemer Lutheran School is one of over 2000 Lutheran Schools in the United States.  The Lutheran Schools make up the largest group of protestant schools in our country.   Our school has students from a variety denominations, other faith traditions and secularists.  Our children come from Non-denominational, Baptist, Catholic, Presbyterian, Episcopal, Methodist, Christian, Greek Orthodox, Evangelical, and other churches.  Our goal is not to convert children or their parents to Lutheran beliefs, but to help them know Jesus, and to know He loves them.  The Reformation of the 16th Century was started by Martin Luther.  It was not just a religious movement, but an intellectual one as well.   Redeemer Lutheran School believes that students should embrace their God-given intellect and use it to become productive citizens in their future world.
